Real Life Heroes

Here at our sanctuary, Amy and Harry Keil lovingly care for our cats with the biggest needs. “The cats that need me the most are the ones who I need,” is how Amy Brown Keil describes her passion of caring for hospice and terminal animals. A long-time animal lover, Amy has been caring for cats for over 32 years. When working in geriatrics, Amy took notice of people who did not have anybody at the end of their life journey, providing comfort and care. This sparked a change in her approach with caring for animals. Amy and husband Harry now feel strongly about any animal abandoned or unwanted – they want them. Amy and Harry now care for 3-legged cats, cats with FIV, cats with FELV and cats who just would not be adopted. Harry is great with working with feral cats become more social. With a sparkle in her eye, Amy says that she refuses to see any animal left behind or forgotten. We are fortunate to have Amy and Harry at Living Love Rescue; they are real life heroes!
