AH, THE BLESSINGS OF A FEW MOMENTS OF PEACE TO EAT LUNCH AT LIVING LOVE.
Hello Living Lovers,
So many amazing things have happened this week that I thought thanks were due.
The road, that bumpy, washed out road we have had to put up with for weeks is a thing of the past. Thanks to Larry Jones who got Neal Lalman to come out and grade the road we can now drive to the shelter without fear of losing our suspensions.
Speaking of Larry, thanks to him for taking charge of getting the washing machine in the cattery repaired by Lowe’s . They have agreed to come out tomorrow morning. Larry will meet the repairmen and ramrod the repairs. Again, thank you, Larry.
Cali has done yeoman duty in caring for little Sara. Not only did she arrange for donors to fund the dog’s surgery, she took Sara to Dripping Springs to the vet and went back to bring her home after her procedure. Both Sara and Cali are doing fine. We appreciate Cali’s devotion to the dogs in her care.
Rosalie merits kudos for arranging Cindy’s retirement party in the cattery. Most cattery volunteers attended. Sandra Santee, manager of the thrift shop and charter member of Living Love wrote a touching dedication of the cattery to Cindy. She presented Cindy with a plaque which will hang in the cattery to remind all future cattery caretakers of who started Living Love. It was a tear jerking moment as we thanked Cindy for her years of devotion to the acts of Living Love.
And the board wishes to thank Diane Smith for the fundraising events she has been doing at various area stores. She has done very well and has been a big help. I know it is not easy to sit somewhere for hours collecting money from passersby and talking up our shelter. Thank you Diane for giving of your time to see to it that Living Love is well supported.
I know you have all worked hard and deserve mention and gratitude. As this year comes to an end and we look back at the year past, it is striking to note how many amazing efforts and how much hard work and just plain grit has gone into making LL the best shelter ever. It was never easy but you all held on for the good of our fur babies. You ARE Living Love. Please never forget that. We are on our way.
May I take this opportunity to express the gratitude of the board to all of you for your devotion and commitment. My question: where will we be at this point next year? May the next year bring us and our sweet charges all the blessings well deserved.
